Oral Cancer Screening
We are proud to now offer you the latest and most up-to-date technology in the early detection of oral cancer. Identafi 3000 involves a revolutionary technique, utilizing three unique wavelengths of light. It is strongly recommended that an early detection test for oral cancer be done annually for all adults 18 years of age and older.
We also refer to the finest dental specialists when indicated.
Sterilization and Safety
For your safety, all instruments and equipment that enter your mouth are either sterilized or disposed of. We use time-tested steam heat sterilization in an autoclave. This process is monitored monthly to assure its efficacy. All dental handpieces (drills) are sterilized after each patient.
Drs. Sukoneck and Wilson have responded proactively to the issue of the safety of dental unit waterlines. To date, no conclusive studies have shown that bacteria in dental unit waterlines actually cause disease. However, it does seem prudent to reduce the level of germs in dental water supplies to an absolute minimum. To this end, we have installed self-contained water supplies on all of our dental units. Patients are no longer exposed to municipal water during treatment. Furthermore, the entire unit is periodically cleansed, further reducing the levels of bacteria. Please note that these measures exceed all current recommendations and regulations regarding dental unit water safety.
A Special Note on Esthetics
Drs. Sukoneck and Wilson are well aware, through many hours of Continuing Education, of the extraordinary advances in dental materials and techniques in recent years. The pace of advancements is exhilarating! Modern restorative dentistry not only performs well and "holds up" extremely well in the harsh environment of the mouth, it also looks great! We strive to make every restoration look natural and beautiful. With the use of modern treatments for cavities, fractures, gum disease and a whole host of other problems that afflict the mouth, health and an attractive appearance go together.
