Invisalign Orthodontic Treatments

Invisalign takes an innovative approach to straightening teeth. It uses a custom-made series of aligners created just for you. These aligners are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you simply wear over your teeth. Wearing these aligners will gradually and gently move your teeth into ideal alignment, based on the exact movements that we plan out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You simply place a new set of aligners on your teeth every two weeks until your treatment is complete and you achieve the beautiful, confident smile that you’ve always wanted.

Invisalign braces are not only virtually undetectable, comfortable, and removable, but they work fast. Most patients will find their teeth are corrected within six and fourteen months. The aligner only has to be worn for around 22 hours per day and can be easily and painlessly removed for eating. They are safe, easy-to-use and very effective.

We understand how important your health and the appearance of your teeth and smile is to you. And we know cost is a big question for people who are considering any form of orthodontic treatment. Here at Sukoneck & Wilson, with our patient care and comfort first approach, we will offer you a non-pressured consultation and a step-by-step understanding of our Invisalign program, to see if it is the right fit for you.

While many forms of adult tooth misalignment are able to be treated with Invisalign, there are conditions that are best treated with conventional orthodontics. Drs. Wilson and Kuang are highly trained in making this distinction and, when appropriate, refer to the finest orthodontists in our area for complex treatment.

Aligned teeth have appearance benefits, that is sure. Aligned teeth also have many health benefits.

It is extremely difficult to properly clean one’s teeth if they are crowded and jammed together. Thus, periodontal health is improved with good alignment. It is said that healthy gums have the stippled appearance of an orange peel; our lovely tooth model in this photo, a dedicated dental hygiene student, has superbly aligned teeth; thus, her superb efforts at her own brushing and flossing really pay off. There’s not a millimeter of gum inflammation to be seen anywhere in her mouth!

Cavities are far more likely in the crevices between jumbled up teeth. This is true even in the front. Note the cavities here in the crowded area, and the lack of cavities in the well-aligned side:

Tooth wear is highly influenced by tooth position. With well-aligned teeth, wear will occur with age but it will be even, and minimized. Once teeth are in poor alignment, the ones that hit their opposing teeth in the other arch the hardest are the ones that will wear the most. Fixing this differential wear is a lot more complicated and expensive than preventing it in the first place:
